Runes of Magic

Ventrilo Voice Chat Server (Teamspeak is GONE!)

EDIT4: VSpy is much quicker than the other options tried so far and will be used for site monitoring of the server. It will only show up for users with the 'Ventrilo' role, which I've given to everyone who plays MMOs. You may hide the block in your account settings if you don't want to see it.

EDIT3: The Teamspeak server will no longer be functional as of Friday, March 27.

EDIT2: The new Ventrilo server is up. You'll need to download the latest client from the link below. Setup the server as follows:

  • Name: Avatar
  • Host: ventrilo4.holdouts.com
  • Port: 3841
  • Password: Same as what we used in the TS server. If you don't remember the old password and can't recover it from your TS client, e-mail or call me.

The following links contain useful gameplay information for RoM.

  • Elite Skills (15, 20, 25)
  • General Talents (i.e. those usable when a class is the secondary class)
  • Rune Calculator a relatively current table showing how runes combine to form other runes in the AT. Note, 5 Tier X runes comine to give 1 Tier X+1 rune.

Runes of Magic

Runes of Magic is a free to play (F2P) MMO in the mold of WoW, but with best of breed elements from EQ2, FFXI, Guild Wars, and several others. Graphics have a decidedly anime bent, but are otherwise a less polished version of what you see in WoW (i.e. no bump mapping, even fewer polygons for the environment, less dynamic lighting, et. al.) Combat and MOB behavior is decidedly similar to WoW. The class and skill system utilizes a dual classing system that allows one to gain benefits from and switch between two classes during a game session, so a single character is not locked into just one role in a group.
