Monthly Game Event

Mar 11 2012 5:30 pm
Mar 12 2012 12:30 am
America/Los Angeles

There will be no Darkwylde game in the month of February. I'd like to schedule our next event for Sunday, March 11, 10:30 am to 5:30 pm. We seemed to have a quorum that earlier on Sunday's works better for everyone. Eat breakfast and bring yourself. Susan can you please organize organize lunch and snacks. If 3 or more can't make 3/11, we'll push out to 3/18, assuming less than 3 must miss that date. Otherwise, I'll just go ahead and run on March 11 with a smaller group.

I plan to run Darkwylde until the end of the module, then take a break. Ideally, Mac or someone else would pick up the DMing for a bit, as we previously planned. We can discuss playing once a month instead of once per two weeks, but I'd like a better commit to the game from those who want to keep playing.

In the pyramid - Nov 26, 2011

All present, except Imheil

We appear in a 20x20 pit filled with undead parts. There is an ettin 10' above on the ledge, and carrion crawlers attack from below (3). Some weak zombies also appear. Ettin has 28 ac, 26 fort, and acts twice a round. Both Dyson and Zan became immobilized by missing saves against Carrion crawler poison. We kill the ettin and drive the carrion crawlers dive underneath. Dyson does abjure undead and all the body parts dissolve showing some green magic underneath (the carrion crawlers hanging on the wall).

We find heads hanging upon the wall (from the Ettin). We hear a voice, and find a bag with a stone. We get the image of a severed head, says here name is Vreillis. Ealdrin princess. Tovor does analysis on stone (last possessor was Ealdrin with red eyes and fangs, Starts to see image of Karavokas holding the head and performing ritual when...

My notes have been fractional, but here are a few:

Back home and off to the frozen north

Session October 15, 2011; Raja and Kava are missing

  • We decide to take Ariande up on her offer, and trade her the triangle (and a browse of the book) in return for her breaking the geas and giving us an item that we use to return to home. We return back near Helga's village and find 3 years have gone by. We journey to Fallcrest and much shopping occurred. Zan sells his griffon egg (5000 gp), but Tovor keeps it until it hatches and imprints; then leaves it in care of an expensive husbandry (100 gp week). We take along some village trade goods (e.g. shop for the village).

  • We had decided to investigate a mage in a pyramid 25 miles from Helga's village, and as we journey to the village we encounter some Frost Giants. They are pretty stealthy and even with Shayla out front (making good rolls) they spot her and neither party is surprised.

    • There are two frost giant scouts (move 9, ac 28, rlfx and fort 27). They do attacks that cause slow and vulnerable to cold.

June 19, 2010 - The dragon culinary society

All present (although some delays due to lateness, and Kava and Shayla leave before we meet the dragon, and Shayla returns)

  • We take an extended rest in a small tunnel next to the water. Ariande, a human bard dressed in elven gear, stealthily appears next to Xan who is on guard. After a bit of odd introductory ceremonies (Xan notices a cold almost ravenous presence, swings at the empty shake). She is a well know adventurer (to Xan at least), kind of a like a one-person Pathfinder Society. She calls the tribe of Kobolds as a draconic culinary society, and wants to rescue some adventurers captured.

    • Raskoric (the dragon) has trained his Kobold army to become experts in non-lethal combat. He may have gotten a bit lazy, but has Warlock powers.

    • There is at least one Kobold lookout, located in a tower (far side of the lake near the other tunnels) with mirrors setup to see most areas (including magical protections). Ariande thinks the Kobolds have forgotten about the tunnel entrance we will be going through, so probably won't notice us immediately.

Short of some details, since I was scrawling them down with a pencil. Everyone attended, except Kava and Shayla.

January 1st 2011

(Missing one Mckay, mostly missing one Mel).

Dear Diary, I’m not dead… yet.

It’s been a intoxicating and dangerous few weeks as we fell from the frying pan, into angelic fire and now into… well, a lake.

After Kava and I managed to harmoniz the chime and bring us through a portal we managed to land in a refreshing and deodorizing lake of cool water.

I have calculated with some minor input from our leader (ok, he might have recognized it instantly) that we have landed in the Fey wilds.

We spent some time recovering and discussing our next steps, analyzing the gear we have found and wasting our precious resources on feeding the local parasites. Magic is bit erractic here, elemental power fluxes with one’s skill (will?) and illusions and summoning seem even odder, and possible more powerful.
Some semi suicidal notions about opening random portals with the chime were discarded and we set off for Imheils home domain.

Site Down... Back Up

The site was down for a few hours this morning.  Should be back up now.
