I watch about 4-5 hours of TV a week, max. I favor Sci-Fi, comedies, dramas, and cartoons. In general, I only like well written shows and favor the quirky and offbeat. I *HATE* reality television. IMO, there's probably more good TV on right now than at any time I can remember, and I don't watch most of it. Now that you have a general idea of where I'm coming from, I have a show to recommend. Most of the time, my favorite shows get canceled quickly, as did my last favorite, Joss Whedon's fantastic Firefly.
My favorite TV show currently running is Reaper. It's alternately funny, creepy, and bizarre, combining the best aspects of Buffy, the X-Files, and any of Kevin Smith's excellent movies, minus the raunch. If you don't know who Kevin Smith is, he wrote and directed Clerks, Chasing Amy, Mall Rats, Dogma, et. al. He oversees or writes all the scripts for Reaper, as well as directs.
