New Guild Developments in SWTOR

Let's talk about what we want to do as far as guild alignment and guild development.

Computer Back

They replaced my motherboard, video card, and cmos battery, free, all under warranty.  Sheesh.  Runs great, Rift on Ultra is smooth as glass.  Interestingly, the computer runs much cooler while dealing with graphics intensive applications.

This is all of most interest to my wife, who gets her computer back.  Be happy for her...

Pirates of the Burning Sea

Posted in

So, my Sunday afternoon Pathfinder group has had trouble being able to meet regularly due to schedule conflicts, and we've decided a little online gaming on days without a quorum would be a good idea. Looking at the Free-to-Play games, we've settled on Pirates of the Burning Sea for now. A couple of us played it at launch, and it was fun, but not worth paying for long term at the time. The terms of a 'Premium' account are pretty good these days, and we plan to play pretty casually. Your all welcome to join our society, if you'd like to try it out, but there's not going to be a regular game night or anything for this one.

Elmental: War of Magic

Stardocks newest creation. Yeah so it snuck out when I was not looking. It's available direct download and retail. I will probable wait a bit for a sale, currently I gather it's um under heavy patching but still a remarkable effort.

Elemental

Elemental Logo This isn't out for a while yet but I plan to start keeping an eye on it. Very reminiscent of Master of Magic in some ways but with elements of Risk and Total War thrown in. Everything being customizable could be fun too, especially if it does more for the game than just cosmetics. Elemental Link

Borderlands

So after last night when Rick was talking about Borderlands I was inspired to go take another look at it. I'm still somewhat indifferent to the single player game after having played through the nine-toes fight with both soldier and sniper classes but if it's ever going to be fun I think it will be in multiplayer. Any interest in trying to get a game going this Thursday evening?

Mass Effect 2 Initial Thoughts

Posted in

So I am probably way behind most of you but I just got off a long couple of weeks and today was the first time I got to fire up Mass Effect 2. Without giving anything away I have to say I was kind of disappointed with the beginning of the new story. I think this might have been partially my own fault because I managed to lose my save file somewhere from the first one so I couldn't import my character and the default didn't line up too well with my original ending. Was anyone else able to import? Anyone know how big a difference it makes to the initial game story? I am sort of considering doing a quick play through of the first one again just to be able to import with the right choices, don't want to waste time if it isn't going to really matter though. Thoughts?

Fallout 3

Posted in

So I just finished Fallout 3. It is a game I had started and given up several times before because it wasn't what I expected a Fallout game to be and that was making it tough for me to enjoy. After Dragon Age though I wanted something a little different and I tried to approach it without considering the Fallout universe at all. I found it to actually be a really fun game this time around somehow. To be fair I did skip quite a few sub-quests and non mission related stuff but I did make it to level 18 at the end of the game and was able to pretty much roll over anything in the wastes. The best part though was the ending. I won't spoil it in case anyone is inspired to try again but I did think it was one of the cooler game endings I have seen in a long time.
