You've prolly all heard by now that the NGE for SWG is killing the game. Lots of folk from Covenant are leaving the game and looking for another game. Many are heading for WoW, so I told them the server we're on and gave 'em our web addy. Not that all of them are quite what I'd recommend for Avatar membership, but the ones likely to check us out are for the most part.

Oh, and I'll be back in WoW as soon as I finish the 3 papers due in the next 2 weeks.

Possibly some new inquiries

In Gw we are 14/15, we are trying to do one story peice a saturday but with the holidays and what not we are a bit behind

For DDO, I've got 3 friends who aren't in Avatar so far that i will definitely rope in. That should do alot to increase the numbers of folks we have available for more than one group. 2 of them play WoW; I think they're on a different server, but they just started so they might come over.

I also know several in GW (with a very small guild), and will see about getting their char info to share with all here.

I expect to prolly be back to WoW this weekend, and maybe pick up GW as well by Xmas.

What level are your Guild Wars characters, Griffon? Since there is no monthly fee, Justin or I could join you guys on an occassional Saturday, if you want us. I could also log on and either fix the cloak for you, or make you the head honcho and let you design it yourself (if I remember how things work correctly).

As for WoW, I stopped playing mostly because Justin, Tom, and Gavin did, leaving me alone at 60th. I was going to play with some of the lower level characters, but when Mike, Kirsten, and (for a time) Frank all stopped playing I stopped as well, since I knew Mac wanted to play regularly and there was only one spot in the Bushi-led group.

Gavin is about to graduate from college and has said (just last night) he misses Wow. Mike J. has always maintained he wanted to play some more but wasn't going to run up another character. If Nick gets back into the game and can gain some ground, we might have enough for a second group and I would consider dusting Sajus off and playing some more, if there is interest.

Not sure Justin will come back yet, though I think he may eventually, perhaps when the expansion is released.

All of what I just wrote probably goes out the window, however, when Dungeons and Dragons Online is released. I have played just long enough to get hooked in the Beta Stress Test, and I know Mike, Tom, and Justin all think it's going to be the best of these games so far (I'm reserving judgement, but I won't say they're wrong). It would be nice if we could handle server selection, class choices, and playing time better for DDO (that rock was aimed at myself) as I think it may be a very fun and suitable game for the Avatars. The six person group limit may once again be a problem, however, if enough of us play.

RE: Possibly some new inquiries

The trick to not getting declined off hand is to post something when they apply and let us know the account name. Otherwise we get just enough spam applications (folks using scripts to try to hack the post nuke portal) that we pretty much squish any thing that comes through without one.

I would like to field a regulars saturday night GW group actual. Right now Doug and I are about half way through the main story line but we never see anyone else (need to fix the cape ours looks, well not as cool as others).

The thursday wow group is very consistant... it's not that we only play with ourselves is just we have 5 and we only play on thursday which makes it sort of tuff to do stuff with other folks. Stupid group limit. Just doing the one night a week thing has pretty much been the secret to longevity.
I would love to get a bigger group together and go do some battle grounds stuff but interest has been kind of luke warm for that so far. Also if a second and third group can boot strap their way up then we can start to have a good raid group and we can move into that part of the game.

RE: Possibly some new inquiries

I've let 'em know its a bit slow with us atm. And I doubt many will check us out anyhow, but there may be a few (and I'll be glad to let you know what my experience with them has been).

There's also several looking at Guildwars, btw.

RE: Possibly some new inquiries

Thanks Nick.

I'm not sure what we can offer them right now though. Griffon's group is a 5 man team that plays pretty much exclusively with themselves. Frank is still playing (around 37th now, I think) and Kirsten and I have characters around 24th, but haven't been playing. It's likely we could get a secnd group night going, as Kirsten would like to play again, but I wouldn't come close to calling us a "guild".

Anyway, those interested should post on the open forum about who they are and why they want to join. Griffon or I will get in touch with them and make sure it's a good fit.
