So I see that FF XI is hitting store shelves now. I am hearing pretty mixed things about it (japan only servers even though they have now released in the US *bogle*?). Anyone playing it? Planing to play it?
Horizons in it's current form deeply offends me (everything I hate boxed level areas, tons of treadmiling, no char dev, forced trade skills that are horrendously dull to work on etc etc)... I'm starting to jones for some adventure with friends though :).
On a unrelated note, Max Payne 2 is pretty fun (but short). It's a strongly story driven FPS and really is a bit like playing through a gritty comic book.

Yes, Griffon, I'm afraid Trials of Atlantis does require Shrouded Isles.
I understand your not wanting to come back to DAOC and wasn't going to say anything else about it--but you kinda opened the door...
Is the resolve weakening?
Anyway, consider how DAOC would be with the following changes:
No soloing. No crafting. Better graphics. Better interface. Only playing once or twice a week for 3 or 4 hours, with a group of friends. Easier levelling from 30 and up (almost twice as quick by some accounts). You're the only Mage (at least for now). A whole new outdoor area to explore. New high level dungeons. No RvR on group nights unless you want to. And finally, the new expansion is a bit different than most expansions, it's like 9 major quests, without much guidance, which yield very powerful special abilities for those who finish them....
Anyway, sorry. No more cajoling.

:p, I rather go forward then back. Not sure about buying an expansion(s? do you need the others) for somthing short term-ish.
Anyone check out the core combat expansion for planetside?

Trials of Atlantis just came out for Dark Age... we're just getting up to the level where you could bring Bushi back... New areas and dungeons on the Isle of Glass...
Let us know when the itch gets bad enough. ;^)
