The Shroud

I just talked with Noble Fist and they are excited to run the Shroud with us--tonight! They are expecting us at 9 and are east coasters, so--assuming everybody is happy with this and will be here tonight--it would be good if we get started as close to on-time as we can. If you know you can't make it, will be late, or don't wish to do this, please post as soon as you can.

We had a good time and we're pretty successful with the Shroud run.

Noble Fist has told me they are happy to run it with us if we let them know. I'd like to hear from everybody this week if you want to run the Shroud again next week (especially if Griffon is with us, since he missed it). If I don't hear from everybody, I"ll assume we are doing something else and won't give Noble Fist a heads up.

Sounds good but

1. My PS (or something worse) is going bad on my game box right now and I can't boot it (shuts right down after a few seconds with not post error beeps)

2. I have D&D game tomorrow night so I will not be back until late, do to some other stuff I doubt I will have time to get ddo up on my laptop.

I will pick up a new PS in the morning and install it when I get home but I doubt that will fit with a tight time line. So best case I will probable be late.

Verifed in game that the Shavarath stones cannot be crafted, per Phil's observation. We'll just have to run the quests again. I really want to do them with Nightfall anyway.

All makes sense to me. The only possible problem is replacing Ariande and Valtar with Nightfall and Sojern--less healing and crowd control for improved dps. The loss of levels is probably more problematic than the change in classes. Might be fun.

Flagging w/Chris

So .. only Valtar and Ariande are over 18, and both have other characters. Allastair is 13 .. at 14 he'll be able to run with the 18's at -25% xp, right?

I'd be inclined to wait till he hits 14 (or 15 if he prefers) and run the whole set with him too.

In the meantime (if there is any) we could look into running a hound or VoD with noble fists ..

Flagging

I have heard nothing from Doug and Griffon this week. Have you guys taken care of your flagging for Shroud? Should we work on that tonight? Here are the steps. Apparently the stones needed can be made from other ingredients. While I don't have an abundance of them, I might have enough to make some of the stones. Have you both run all 5 quests?

Running with the Devils - Shavarath Stone of Battle (red) (Ingredients: Bitterscrub Fungi, Glistening Pebbles)
Rainbow in the Dark - Shavarath Stone of Foresight (deep green) (Ingredients: Green Briar Twigs, Glistening Pebbles)
Ritual Sacrifice - Shavarath Stone of Might (purple) (Ingredients: Lammanian Lily Petals, Bitterscrub Fungi)
Let Sleeping Dust Lie - Shavarath Stone of Strategy (light green) (Ingredients: Locust Husk, Chipmunk Funk)
The Coalescence Chamber - Shavarath Stone of Victory (blue) (Ingredients: Green Briar Twigs, Chipmunk Funk)

Preparing, or 'flagging', for the Shroud raid requires a few steps, outlined below.

1) Go to The Twelve, and speak to Gustavine Kyerrh. He will give you the quest to find Meridia.
2) While in The Twelve, speak to Jeanselme Brucetius to receive a Small Ingredients Bag. You can purchase a Medium Ingredients Bag in House Phiarlan, Jorasco or The Portable Hole
3) Exit the Tower of The Twelve, and go to the upper North-East corner to enter The Vale of Twilight.
4) Explore The Vale until you locate Meridia, the town within The Vale. Rest, Repair, Bind, and speak to Grandmaster Aaseamah Screven to advance your quest.
5) You must now complete the 5 Pre-Raid quests and collect the Shavarath Stone in the end chest from each of these quests. Make sure you keep these Shavarath Stone items.

6) Once you have completed all 5 quests, you should have enough favor points for Suspicious rank of The Twelve and have received in-game mail notification. Go back to either Jeanselme Brucetius in The Twelve or Valairea Satnarine in Meridia and claim your favor rank.
7) Now, go to Valairea Satnarine outside the Eldritch Chamber in the center of Meridia, and start her quest of Eldritch Device Tutorial.
8) You now have access to the Altar of Fecundity in Meridia, and you can now begin crafting. In order to complete "Chapter 1: The Nature of Eldritch" of the quest, take all 5 items she gave to you (Chunk of Shavarath Dirt, Gnoll Whittled Branch, Polished White Marble Stone, Spider Spun Thread and Special Energy Cell) and place them in the Altar of Fecundity. Mix Magically to make a Glowing Orb (looks like the Festival Twig). Bring this back to her. (Note: You need this to be in your inventory. When it is in your ingredient bag, she won't notice.)
9) Your quest should be advanced to "Chapter 2: Stones of Shavarath" now, take all 5 of the Shavarath Stones and do the same to make a Shavarath Signet Stone (grey) - This Stone is a key ingredient to make your Green Steel Item. Again, bring this back to her.
10) Then the Grandmaster Aaseamah will give you the quest of The Thirteenth Eclipse (The Shroud raid), if he does not advance your quest at this point, be certain you have collected your end rewards from each of the five quests. You have not actually "completed" the quest until you collect your reward.

Other Raids

NF also mentioned that two of the raids off the Subterrane, The Hound of Xoriat and one other, do not require flagging. They'll be happy to run those with us as well, and pretty much offered to pull things together on most Sunday nights if we like. Really good folk!

It was unfortunate that Ugrem and Borrin weren't flagged, but certainly not your fault Rick. Both Doug and I thought Borrin was flagged when I called him on Sunday, and Griffon didn't flinch when I showed him your post, so I think we all thought we were ready. We couldn't leave NF hanging when we found out at the last minute. That's part of working with another group; we need to hold up our end.

Anyway, I'm more than happy to do the Vale quests again. We pretty well sucked at them the first time through. I did some checking, and Ariande had done all but one of the quests only once. Doug, if you can play on a night other than Sunday, let me know and we'll do one or more of them together. I can also play some during the day for the next week or so. I'd also be happy to bring Nightfall instead, if what we really want is DPS and we don't have Phil.

Griffon, is Ugrem missing the stones as well, or do you need to run the quests again?

My Mistake

So I wanted to apologize to Doug and Griffon for assuming they had completed their Shroud flagging. It honestly never occurred to me they might not have done it. Noble Fist has offered to run the Shroud with us any Sunday we want, if we give them some notice. If you both want to at least run it once, we should work on getting Doug (and Griffon if he doesn't have them) his stones from the Vale pre-flagging quests. We're tougher now and know what we're doing, so we should be able to handle them a bit easier. This also benefits Phi. Mike, and I since you need multiple Stones of Shavarath to make multiple Green Steel items.

I should also mention the raid was a complete blast and many thanks to Noble Fist for taking the time to help us with it. They all did a great job making us feel welcome and being patient with a certain Sorcerer's noobiness...
