This game has been on my radar for a while. Visually it makes me think of the giant doomstar battles that were some of my favorite times in the Master of Orion series. It released on Steam a few days ago for 20 bucks and I am seriously considering it. Anyone play it yet or is it on anyone else's playlist?

Thanks for the warning!
Thanks for the warning! What I really want is something like the old Starfleet Command games, a Star Fleet Battles combat simulator with a campaign format stitched around it. Frankly, there's been nothing to scratch my space combat itch Descent: Freespace 2. I keep going back to GalCiv 2, which is the best 4X game since MOO, but frankly 4X lacks the adrenaline of a good real time space sime, whether first person like D:F2 or command style like SFC. If anyone comes across a good space combat game with fun scenarios and some tactical depth, please post about it.

so my conclusion from the
so my conclusion from the demo is wait for the 5 dollar sale. It's not that it's not moderately interesting in a TD way... but it's very 2d and you don't get to immerse yourself in a epic 3d sense to enjoy the battle you can no longer effect once started.
Update-Sigh
I played a bit of the demo last night and today. The ship creation and tactical stuff is fairly cool but you have no control of your fleet, I mean none, once you start the battle. You build the ships, set their basic AI behavior and then watch. The tutorial battle took 20 minutes and I didn't get to do anything but watch. It would have been nice to at least be able to set priority targets or something. I guess they weren't kidding when they called it a TD game. I have played and enjoyed TD based games like Plants vs Zombies or AI defense but at least with those I can continue to place towers and such as the battle moves along. This went from something I was fairly interested in to the home for unplayable games pretty quickly. Sigh.

I don't know but I'm grabbing the demo!
