I had a very irritating experience with my nividia 8800 dying on me. I was pretty stoked at first that BFG was going to honor the warranty on it and replace. Sadly it took a bunch of weeks for them to manage to get me a new card. What the sent me was a 9600 GT, I was kind of irked about that but digging into the numbers and testing it suggest that it is similar in performance though worse at some stuff better at others. The fan is super annoying loud, to the point of I can't ignore it so I will have to get a after market non suck wine fan. Anyway I give BFG a c+ for the whole experience but that is better then most would do with a several year old card, most would fail utterly. The end result is I now get to do non laptop gaming again woot!.

It's nice to see a run of games that I can sink my teeth into.

So for anyone who missed it there is a left 4 dead 2 demo out on steam.

It's pretty good, more of the same but with a few added elements and same great game play from l4d. I'm... not convinced this is worth anything close to a full priced game it feels like an expansion to me, but that said it was very satisfying to play.

I picked up dragon age for the pc, and it just oozes design quality. There have been a few bugs though. Overall though the first couple hours of play have been memorable. Very much a modern high quality never winter nights, but with a camera that doesn't suck and can be good over the shoulder world view.

Torchlight is just a great diablo clone. I have been having a good time with it but I'm down in the deeps and it's just now after many hours starting to feel a bit grindey. The art style is kind of wow cartoon like with supper fluid animation. This one is nice for lighter systems even runs decent on a macbook with boot camp. It has a toggle for a net books but I don't have anything to test that with. For 20 bucks it's a excellent deal if your tired of waiting for D3. No coop play though :(.

and all this on the hills of the best batman game... um ever? DDO is free to play and just a great (but different) kind of MMO well worth trying if you want a change from wow grind. I havn't tried borderlands yet but that looks interesting, anyone messing with it? Not sure about the super heavy cel shading.

My gaming cup runith over, but then maybe that is to much information ;)

Welcome back to the fold

Welcome back to the fold brother :)

Amazon claims that my copy of Dragon Age should be here tomorrow. Can't wait.

I will probably wait for a sale on L4D2 but I will pick it up as soon as that happens. Haven't tried Borderlands either but I like the idea of the 4 player co-op mode. I will probably wait till after I finish Dragon Age to get it though.
