All information about Darkwylde characters should be posted here, or added as child pages of this page.
Player characters will start at first level and may be of any race in the Players Handbook. Classes are also unrestricted and may include classes depicted in the Dragon webzine (i.e. the Barbarian), or those from the Forgotten Realms Player's Guide (i.e. the Sword Mage). I will be moderating the choices to insure we have no more than two of any given class and that the duplicated classes are of different race and build choice.
The humans, halflings, and dwarves in the group have all traveled here (Winterhaven) with a trade caravan from a Fallcrest, a human town to the South-East, while the characters of other races that have joined the group from other parts of the Nentir Vale.
The group has multiple reasons for coming to the North and the town of Winterhaven, and those will be communicated to the players individually. Some of you know each other well, but for the most part you have discovered a common goal to explore the area about Winterhaven and are taking advantage of the serendipity in finding others to join you in what would otherwise have been an impossibly perilous undertaking. You all met in Fallcrest. You have had a chance to speak to one another, to fight alongside one another on the trip North, and the opportunity to get past the paranoia and distrust that would usually prevent forming a band with strangers. In Winterhaven, you are all outsiders.

Notes have been in for a
Notes have been in for a while but notes and cash were not editable in mobile version. That was fixed at some point though (Woot). I'll check out the lab section, had not noticed that.
So they did a nice job with the web builder client. I like it better and find it cleaner and more intutive then the crap tastic bloatware client.
One extra human combat ability but otherwise no changes for Tovar. Updated to iplay4e.
Embedding iPlay4e Characters In This Site
The above was added by going to the comment editor in the Avatar site, clicking the Source button, pasting the following (copied from the Link/Embed->Any Site option in iPlay4e) into the edit window, then clicking the Source button again and then the Save button:
<iframe src="http://iplay4e.appspot.com/view?xsl=fullviewPref&key=agdpcGxheTRlchQLEgtDaGFyYWN0ZXJWMhiV3-gDDA" style="width:970px;border:none; height:645px; padding:0;" frameborder="no"></iframe>
iPlay4e Notes
There is a Notes section in the iPlay4e character sheet. To get to it, click the Notes tab over the Powers window. Its just a simple text editor, but useful for noting non-standard equipment, abilities, etc. The labs version is adding an editable Notes section for each Power, Skill, Item, etc. Should help with custom equipment and abilities. EDIT: I really like the labs implementation.
Exporting Characters
Note that you will need to import existing Character Builder characters into the new tool for editing, and use the Export function to save them as Character Builder files to upload them to iPlay4e. You need to save an edited file and return to the Home screen before you'll be able to Export it for uploading to iPlay4e. Details below.
You can import your character from the current DDI/Saved Characters directory on your system using the Import button at the bottom of the Home->Load Character screen. Select the saved character file and click the Open button. This will open the character in the on-line CB. Once opened, Save the character and click the Home button in the upper right corner.
To Export a character, go to the Home screen and click the Load button. Select the character from the list of available characters and click the Export button. enter a file name and choose the location in the dialog box that pops up and click the Save button. The file you need to upload will now be in the selected location.
Well cool
Good... But they could have built it in htlm5 instead and got tablets and phones too. I remember when they first cans out with the pc client being perplexed that it was not browser based. Now I'm perplexed again so in another couple years I'm sure they will rebuild again :)
D&D Character Builder - Now On-Line!
Hi Folks,
Wizards has ceased development of the PC-based D&D Character Builder. Instead, they are moving forward with an on-line version that will launch from a web browser, so long as you have the Microsoft Silverlight plug-in installed. This is really great news as the on-line version will run on Macs and netbooks, though there is still no Silverlight plug-in for the iPad or iPhone. Check out the on-line tool at:

Helga Stormsdotter Background (Archived Comment from Stephanie)
Helga comes from a small barbarian tribe to the far North. She was highly respected and great things were predicted for her from the time she was a young girl. She was extremely athletic and healthy. It was thought she would make some warrior a fine wife and bear wonderful children.
All was well until she becme bethrothed to the son of the chief of a neighboring tribe. Shortly thereafter he was killed in a fall from his horse. She was next betrothed to the son of the tribe's shaman. He was consiquently killed by a falling tree while gathering halucinogenic mushrooms. Most recently she was promised to a famous (and brave) warrrior. He was promptly slain by a bear.
Rumors began to circulate that she was cursed. No more men came around and marriage looked like a very remote possibility. Being extremly pragmatic, Helga then decided to try adventuring by signing on as a caravan guard. Her parents gave her their blessings and sent her on her way.
Tovar Background (Archived Comment from Griffon)
Tovar is young wizard set to prove something... He is just not sure what yet. Tovsr is of average height and weight, perhaps a bit on the scrawney side as adventures go.
Tovar was sent forth from home and the a acadamy under a bit of a shadow and told to do good works. Some young folks, and a certain girl made a of a fool of him... a considerable magic facility was shown in some anger.
Attemps to get the story tend to only get a acidict or angry response, if he has been at his cups, if not only sullen silence.
Tovar so far in the travels has been reliable if not the most happy of folks, those of good alignment find him a bit uneven ( might may make right, power is just a tool ect).
Forlorn Background (Archived Comment from Mel)
Strange Rumors about a young tiefling in town who may be touched and even the parents are unsure so have had him locked in the basement for most of his life. No one at this time is sure why he is loose and walking the streets at this time. Seems to have taken a liking to a small group of adventuring people. A very sweet but odd young man. Who seems to be nerves with large groups, but fine sitting in a corner on his own. Very soft spoken and well mannered
Many people have pointed out that he seems to talk to himself. Helps around town at any opportunity, but has a uncanny way of showing up at odd times (example) if something unexpected should happen during the day he is there to either help or watch depending on what's going on. People seem to be able to take advantage of him very easily, but it seems to only work the 1st time never twice.
Outfitted in soft leather armor with daggers at his side and a backpack on his back. Looks to be ready to travel at anytime. Very compentent at getting around town and knowing where to find what he is looking for if it be a location or a item.
Imheil Edasseril Background (Archived Comment from Frank)
